Our daughter asks if we can make the orange chicken that she likes from Panda Express. We also like to make the dish to be sure that it doesn’t have any undesirable stuff in it. So, now we share with you this recipe, how to make Orange Chicken (Cách Làm Gà Sốt Cam). This is a Chinese dish with Hunan origin, sometimes also called tangerine chicken, orange flavored chicken, etc. The chicken is sweet and (optionally) spicy. This home-made recipe uses fresh orange peel and juice. Since we’re using fresh orange juice and zest, the chicken turns out flavorful and fragrant.
In a small bowl, whisk together all the "Sauce ingredients" until smooth.
Cut chicken breast into bite size pieces. Place into a bowl. Crack in one egg and mix well to coat.
Coat the chicken with flour (mixed with salt.)
Deep fry for 2-3 minutes on medium high heat or until golden brown. Place the fried chicken on a dish lined with paper towel.
Drain off oil in the pan. Place it back to the stove. Add garlic and ginger. Stir until fragrance. Place in the fried chicken. Give it a good stir. Pour in the orange sauce. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes or until reach to your desired consistency.
