Honey Walnut Shrimp Recipe – Tôm Mật Ong Hạt Điều

Typically, the shrimps would disappear fairly fast after I am done tossing because she always stands right next to me every time I make the dish.

Honey Walnut Shrimp - Tôm Mật Ong Hạt Điều
Ingredients
For the Candy Walnut
- 1 cup walnut
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
For the Sauce
- 4 teaspoon mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 2 teaspoon condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
For the Shrimps
- 1 pound medium shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup corn starch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
- vegetable oil
Instructions
Making the Candy Walnut
- Melt butter in a saucepan on medium heat. Pour in the Walnut. Stir until coat. Transfer to a bowl. Place the pan back to the stove. Add sugar and water. Bring to a boil. Pour in the buttered Walnut. Stir and cook frequently until coat. Set aside.
Making the Sauce
- In a small bowl, Whisk very well together all the Sauce ingredients. Set aside.
Making the Honey Shrimps
- Season the shrimps with salt and ground pepper. Mix well and marinate for 5 minutes. Crack the egg into the shrimp bowl. Mix well.
- Place only the shrimps into a plastic bag or a container with a lid. Pour in corn starch. Cover and shake to coat.
- Deep fry the shrimps in the extremely hot oil for 2 minutes. Remove and place the shrimps on a dish with paper towel to remove any excess oil.
- Then place the shrimps into a big bowl. Pour in the sauce. Mix well. Top with Walnut Candy.
- The dish can be served with steamed broccoli or any vegetable of your choice.
